After a rigorous assessment process, we are proud to announce that Severn Partnership has retained its Investors in People Gold accreditation.
This places us amongst only 17% of accredited organisations that achieve Gold, and reflects our unwavering commitment to our talented people.
A reflection of our continued commitment
Originally accredited with the Gold standard in 2022, this ongoing achievement reflects the significant investment we continue to place in the development, progression and performance of our team.
Achieving Gold requires us to meet the highest standards in the IIP framework, which assesses leadership, employee support and improved performance. We put our people first – which in turn drives increased employee engagement and company performance.
We have also maintained a culture of trust, engagement and openness amongst our colleagues, and adopt practices that drive future improvement and success for us all.
Areas of strength that helped us maintain Gold
The Investors in People assessment that helped us retain Gold status pinpointed several areas where we excel, including:
- a collegial working environment
- professionalism in carrying out duties and activities
- varied and challenging roles for people to be stretched
- a right person for right role approach
- an open door policy to encourage improvement and raise issues
- the development of a training matrix to support and monitor people’s performance, competence and future development
- health and wellbeing initiatives
- frequent performance reviews and business updates
Recent and ongoing investments in our people
One way we continue to grow the team organically is by implementing internal and extremal training that enables everyone in the company to progress. For example, two of our employees recently completed the ProQual Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying – an invaluable experience which yielded excellent results.
We have also changed our wellbeing provider to one that provides more comprehensive cover spanning optical, dental, complementary therapies and health screening, alongside services such as mindful courses, stress helplines and 24/7 doctor consultations.
In addition, our most recent company ‘stand down day’ saw colleagues taking place in team building activities on a farm – a rare and priceless opportunity to bring the whole team together, which is always difficult in the land surveying industry.
What this continued accreditation means to us
As HR Advisor Katie Lafferty said, “To know that only the top 17% of organisations assessed receive Gold status, and that Severn Partnership maintained its Gold standard following our most recent assessment is truly amazing.
“The accreditation reassures employees that leadership is transparent, supportive and focused on continuous improvement – qualities that were highlighted in the assessment.
“It also validates the commitment and hard work of every individual working collaboratively together, and solidifies the strength of our team culture.”
