What is BIM?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a collaborative way of working underpinned by digital technologies. These technologies allow for more efficient methods of designing, delivering and maintaining physical built assets throughout their entire life-cycle.

What does BIM level 2 bring to the table?
Well in summary the official statement is:
Pas 1192-2:2013 Information management for the capital/delivery phase of construction projects using building information modelling.
Severn partnership in summary:
Tier 2 contractor providing Measured Building surveying, 3D laser scanning, 3D modelling and visualisation services complying with BIM Level 2 in accordance with PAS 1192-2:2013, BS1192:2007 and BS 1192-4:2014.
In a nutshell, it brings a consistent approach improving quality and efficiencies across the supply chain. The 3D model is a critical component of BIM which can be described as the platform or foundation. If this is accurate and correct then everything else will fold into with ease and success.
