Scan2BIM Survey – RICS Headquarters, London
Scan2BIM Survey – RICS Headquarters, London Summary:
Working with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Severn Partnership 3D laser scanned (Survey4BIM) the RICS HQ in Parliament square, London. From this an accurate Revit (Scan2BIM) model was created with varying levels of model detail.
Our survey team traversed in external control and installed temporary internal control on a local survey grid. They 3D Laser scanned the entire building inside through all the floors and outside in Parliament Square. This was done with minimal intrusion to the office workers in the building.
The RICS used this project to educate both internal and external staff as well as to market their BIM capabilities. The laser scan covered all six floors of the historic occupied property with the model created in Autodesk Revit and delivered in IFC format for use in their facilities management software and ongoing construction work.
