Laser Scanning & 3D Modelling for MEP Spatial Analysis
Laser Scanning & 3D Modelling for MEP Spatial Analysis Summary:
Laser scanning & 3D modelling of a brewery for spatial analysis.
Severn Partnership were asked to 3D Laser Scan a Brewery Production Plant in Richmond, London.
Our client’s objective was to deconstruct and rebuild the plant in a different location. It was important that the pipes were accurately modelled and the correct metadata was associated to each component. This was to ensure that when the client moved the equipment, it could be put back together in the exactly the same order.
Over 40 scans were captured between plant equipment to ensure all of the pipework was included within the Point Cloud and 3D model.
The 3D model was created within Autodesk Revit. The vast majority of the modelling was done manually, however as there were hundreds of pipes intertwining, Clear Edge was utilised where possible.
