Severn Partnership – Highway, Road & Bridge Surveys
Highway, Road & Bridge Surveys Summary:
The surveying of the UK’s roads has traditionally been a core activity of Severn Partnership, allowing us to draw upon over 25 years of highway surveying experience throughout the UK and overseas. We have surveyed motorway junctions, dual carriageways and all associated bridges & culverts.
We are also able to issue infrastructure surveys in Revit or IFC format as Building Information Models (BIM).
Highway Experience, Efficiency & Expertise:
Severn Partnership has developed vast knowledge of the surveying services required within the highways sector, with our work covering all aspects of infrastructure including trunk roads, motorways, car parks, residential, city centre and all associated structures. All of our projects are delivered within the Department of Transport (DOT) highway specification. A quick review of the other tabs in this section of our site will demonstrate our success in completing projects on the highway.
Utilization of the most modern equipment combined with careful road worker action plans allow for maximized production rates allowing our staff to complete large amounts of work in limited time periods. Time on site is invariably costly. Our experienced survey teams can action the specification efficiently, minimizing your costs, while still adhering to methods of best practice which guarantee quality.
We also use 3D laser scanning and aerial photogrammetry to avoid the need for traffic management, road or lane closure. For long and thin road corridor surveys Severn Partnership can offer grid projection solutions for specific jobs. This method ensures scale factor distortion is solved for on highways surveys which expand over longer distances.
Bridges & Structures:
Bridge structures are recognized as an integral component of the highway network and Severn Partnership has gained vast surveying experience on a wide variety of bridge designs. With the massive number of structures dating back to Victorian construction and the need to merge present day designs into existing structures, there is a large and growing demand for dimensionally correct structure surveys.
Our reflectorless survey capability using total stations and laser scanners is ideal for surveying complicated three dimensional details without the need for direct access. These techniques have successfully been implemented to survey three dimensional detail on larger and more complex motorway structures, helping solve both proximity and access issues. Once the data is acquired, reliable vertical and horizontal bridge clearance information can be extracted. We offer a further variety of deliverables, each of which can be individually tailored to suit individual clients.
