HSQE Innovation and Adding Value
HSQE Innovation and Adding Value:
Saving Cost, Carbon & Casualties!
Our core company ethos is written large on the wall of our HQ – Quality, Safety & Delivery. This could be just another company jargon phrase, but our repeat clients are proof that this is how we aim to deliver our projects and how we can add value to your projects. We have gone over and above the requirements of our integrated management system (ISO9001:2008, OHSAS 18001 & ISO14001:2004) and taken continual improvement to heart.
We have created a new HSQE department to oversee training, mentoring and innovations that bring value to our clients on multiple levels from winning tenders to delivering ahead of programme or demonstrable saving of Carbon. How do we do it? Read on to get a flavour of what we can do.
Through our business, we use the latest technology from cloud computing online schedules and working hours reporting to vehicle trackers and even our own in house close call reporting app created for us by sister company Seeable Ltd. All aimed at smooth running of projects and reduction of risk. With these, we can:
- Feed into your reporting of man hours worked
- Simplify shift reporting with confidence & real time information
- Report close calls, near misses and potential hazards from site
- Plan & reserve resources without double booking
- Feed into your quality and safety systems

Mobile Mapping with Pegasus:Two & RILA:
This is a big one – for rail and highways and even underside of river bridge surveys, Severn Partnership have invested in the first in Europe high accuracy mobile mapping system – Pegasus:Two mobile mapping.
Surveying roads at driving speed with survey grade accuracy and the best part, potentially saving up to 90% on cost and programme compared to conventional workflows! How? Its simple.
By surveying on the move from the roof of our mapping vehicle, for most projects we can:
- Remove the need for surveyors working roadside in the verge
- Remove the need for lane closures, temporary traffic lights, road cones
- Save carbon by having fewer trips to site
- Save programme time
- Save cost from all of the above.
A road closure may costs thousands and take up to 8 weeks to plan, where we can be on site with a week’s notice and 95% of field work completed in one days planned drive around site. On a typical project, 20% may be survey cost and 80% safety & road closure costs – can you afford not to instruct us ! On top of that, the resulting data is a magnitude better than other methodologies – leading to better visualisation and data quality.
So, to sum up – we are offering more data, better quality, faster survey, saving time, money and demonstrable carbon reduction & reduced footfall for better workforce safety.

Demonstrate Innovation & Added Value to Win Tenders:
We have a host of ideas and tangible benefits to aid in winning tenders and raising scores in you PQQ submissions. Starting with the basics above, explaining mobile mapping benefits (see below) and innovations from our Sister company SEEABLE Ltd who can recycle plans and scan to BIM models as interactive safety visualisations.
With the push to get more done in less time for a lower cost and adding value along the way – talk to our HSQE team to get some ideas for your next PQQ tender.
One Stop Shop:
At Severn Partnership, the HSQE department sits over our Geospatial, Utilities survey, 3D Laserscanning, BIM, Railway survey and Mobile Mapping departments. As such, we are able to control the quality and safety on projects by minimising outsourcing and subcontracting of site survey work. This goes all the way to training, mentoring and our investment to get to Silver Standard Investors in People (IIP).
Rail Access & Possession Planning:
Getting access to rail infrastructure is half the battle or getting rail & Pway survey done efficiently and on time. We work with a team of expert Core2 planners and in house project managers to plan and execute all access to the rail infrastructure. We can do this for you or can feed into your access planning if required.
We have developed a number of visualisation deliverables which enable you to re-cycle your 3D surveys, designs or even 2D plans. Adding information, hazards, images to enable simple, non technical visualisation of risks and on site conditions. They can then be used for:
- Construction briefings
- Site inductions, safety & training
- Shift planning & logistics
- Stakeholder engagement
- Sent to outsourced modelling teams to increase the quality of modelling from our scan data by visualising on site detail
Behavioural Safety Training:
Through over 50 years of combined site experience, we can offer bespoke behavioural safety training sessions either as toolbox talks, office CPD or even virtual reality 3D environments created with your safety team to communicate risks pertinent to your business. We do things differently to engage your staff to pay attention and comprehend the risks.
