Mental Health Awareness Week
The Mental Health Foundation’s mission is to help people understand, protect and sustain their mental health. Prevention is at the heart of what they do, because the best way to deal with a crisis is to prevent it from happening in the first place.
Severn Partnership was established in 1983 with just 2 people and has come along way in 34 years developing into a UK renowned Survey Company, completing a great deal of work 24/7. There is evidence that prolonged periods of excessive pressure have an adverse effect on health. Research provides strong links between stress and physical effects such as heart disease, back pain, headaches, gastrointestinal disturbances or various minor illnesses; and psychological effects such as anxiety and depression.

Are Severn Partnership committed to reducing the effects of workplace stress?
We have compiled an extensive programme of action which includes:
- Arranging fun physical events such as hill walking, mountain biking and 10 pin bowling
- Quarterly cycle to work days offering a free breakfast to cyclists
- Fruit box provided weekly
- An assessment questionnaire compiled by the HSE – This will feed into HSE guided analysis so that we can adjust our work processes to support factors that are seen to be causing stress
