Scan2BIM – Revit Model of Penn Hospital
Scan2BIM – Revit Model of Penn Hospital Summary:
Severn Partnership have been working with consulting engineers on Penn hospital, Wolverhampton which is to undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment & renovation. The project involved 3D laser scanning both internally and externally for the subsequent creation of a Building Information Model in Autodesk Revit. Severn Partnership also created an in-depth topographical survey of the surrounding site and buried services.
The refurbishment project has been ideally suited for Scanning to BIM (scan2bim) with constraints on both time on site and restrictions on access, as the hospital was still partly operational. The Building Information Model was created in Revit using it’s in-built point cloud engine. From the completed 3D Revit model 2D elevations, sectional elevations and cross-sections were created in a matter of hours.
- 2D Topographical survey of the surrounding detail
- 2D Elevations, Cross Sections & Sectional Elevations
- 3D Revit (rvt) BIM
