Measured Building Survey of Kings Cross Stations
Measured Building Survey of Kings Cross Stations Summary:
Measured building survey of Kings Cross stations and Eastern range offices for structural building assessment and design by a multidisciplinary team (for renovation, refurbishment and retrofit).
A combination of 3D laser scanning, reflectorless total station and handheld tablet measured building software was used to survey the buildings over a five week period. With a total of more than 1km of heritage elevations, 10 sections & sectional elevations, a topographical survey of all the concourse areas and a track survey between the platforms on all lines.
Access was arranged through the duty station manager and possessions booked to gain track access. Surveyors also needed to survey the two barrels of the roof from outside, creating specific risk assessments for tethered walkway access. This was aided by the use of our 3D laser scanner which allowed us to safely complete the survey of difficult to reach areas.
